Dept. of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care offers various course such as:

The duration of two courses is:
M.D. Anaesthesiology - 3 years
D.N.B. Anaesthesiology - 2 years
after D.A. or 3 years after M.B.B.S. Department of Anaesthesiology of University College of Medical Sciences & GTB Hospital was established in 1987. Postgraduate course of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Anaesthesiology was started in the year 1991. Presently, the department offers courses in M.D. as well as Diplomat in National Board (D.N.B) in Anaesthesiology. Over the past 15 years, it has grown to an existing strength of 10 faculty members, 33 Senior Residents, 3 M.D. students and 2 DNB students each year.

The department provides anaesthesia services for General Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmic, Oto-rhino-laryngologic and Neurosurgery. Emergency anaesthesia services are operational in 4 operating rooms 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An 8 bedded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) caters to the critically ill patients of the patients belonging to all the disciplines and is managed primarily by Department of Anaesthesiology with backup from other specialities. Besides these, a pre-anaesthetic check-up clinic is run as an Out Patient Department (OPD) and pain clinic services for acute and chronic pain relief including post-operative pain relief are available with expertise from department of Anaesthesiology.
